In the peaceful village of Montinjan near Koper, on a hill in the heart of the Slovenian Istria region of refosco, is the organic wine and olive farm Vina Montis & Eko Laura.

Our vineyards and olive groves stretch across the hill of Montinjan and here begins the organic story of fine wines of Slovenian Istrian varieties, refosco (“refošk”), “istrska malvazija”, “muškat”, “maločrn”, typical Montinjan olive oil, grappa and liqueurs united under the brand Vina Montis & Eko Laura.

The philosophy of the winery is based on respect for tradition and cultural heritage, as well as harmony between agriculture and the environment. Wine, inspiration and honey medicine (“medežija”).

Our vineyards are located in a sunny position on a hill overlooking the Gulf of Trieste in Koper and on a clear day you can see Graz, Venice, the Dolomites and even the Triglav mountain. In the mild Mediterranean climate, organic grapes thrive on the vines for the best organic wines that reflect the power of the sun, the immensity of the sandy-flinty soils of Istria and the traditions that connect 5 generations of winemakers from one generation to the next. We are honored that the 1st Wine Queen of Slovenian Istria, Elizabet Bordon, comes from our house. In addition to wines and oils, our organic estate also offers wine tours for private groups.
