When you arrive in Marezige in the land of Refošk, we invite you to relax in our new tavern Karjola, which will surely enchant you with its peaceful cosiness and tempt you to come back. We are a young and ambitious team, ready to respond to the wishes and needs of our guests.

We work in a pleasant environment in a renovated cooperative building. In our premises the old Istrian style is complemented by a modern one, and the cosy atmosphere itself invites you to taste Istrian delicacies. We have a larger hall with a sea view that can accommodate 120 guests, a wine cellar with local wines for 50 guests, a shaded covered terrace for 70 guests in fine weather and a sunny open terrace for 60 guests.

Our offer also includes both the modern and the cosy. We recommend the various homemade Istrian dishes, the ham and cheese with homemade bread and the specialties – “pjat karjola” and “pjat dežele refoška”. And because we can adapt to every guest, we can prepare more standard dishes: Grill dishes, various fish dishes, pizza, pasta and various desserts.

Of course, we are also ready to fulfill your special requests. So if you order in advance, we can prepare something special that is not included in our regular offer.

And you will surely be delighted with the surroundings as well. We have a beautiful vantage point across the street from the restaurant, from which you can overlook the entire Gulf of Trieste all the way to the Italian coast. For children there is a playground with several play areas and a bowling court (“balin plac”)  next to the inn.

Upon reservation and request you can celebrate with us anniversaries, birthdays, weddings and other special occasions, we offer business lunches and dinners, and we can liven everything up with pleasant live music.
